Social Media Share Preview

Privacy

Social Media Share Preview lets you inspect a public URL without creating an account. This page describes the data flows used by the tool. If you have a question about these practices, email [email protected].

URLs and preview requests

The URL you enter is sent to our server to retrieve the page's HTML and inspect its share image. The destination website and image host receive these requests. Preview images are also loaded by your browser, which can reveal your IP address to those image hosts. The URL is included in the browser address bar as a query parameter so you can revisit or share a result. It may therefore appear in browser history and infrastructure request logs. Do not submit private links, passwords, access tokens, or confidential query parameters.

The application does not maintain a user account database or a saved preview history on the server. Lookup responses are sent with caching disabled so a recheck can reflect changes. Hosting and network providers may process request metadata for delivery, reliability, and security; this page does not promise a specific retention period for their logs.

Browser storage and analytics

The website stores your light or dark theme preference in browser local storage. You can remove it through your browser's site-data settings. The site loads Simple Analytics to understand website usage. Details of that service's data handling are available in Simple Analytics' privacy policy. Analytics requests are separate from the metadata lookup itself.

External services and links

The website's own social image uses Webscreenshot when configured. Submitted preview images come from the checked website or its image provider. Links to platform debuggers, MightyShare, and RightBlogger take you to external services with their own policies. If you email support, the message and any attachments are processed to respond to your request. Share only the information needed to explain the issue.
